United Nations Declaration on the rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNIDRIP). The UNIDRIP was adopted by the 61st Sessions of the United Nation Assembly on 13 September 2007.

Article 26 of UNIDIP states,”Indigenous peoples have the rights to own, use, develop and control the lands, territories and resources that they possess by reasons of traditional ownership or other traditional occupation or uses, as well as those which they have otherwise occupied”
